Will I lose my iMessages if I sign in with a new Apple ID?

Hi! I recently found my old iPad and, to my surprise, it works just fine! However, I have since changed my Apple ID from the one that's in use on the iPad. I don't have access to the email the Apple ID is registered to. If I sign in with my new Apple ID, will I lose all my old iMessages and such?

Hi GalaxyUnicorn,

I understand that you found your old iPad still signed in with your old Apple ID. You are wanting to know if you sign out of the old Apple ID and into the new Apple ID, if all your messages will still be there. I'll be happy to help you with this.

Yes, your messages will still be there. To update any apps that you had previously downloaded to the iPad, you will need to use the old Apple ID and password, or you can delete those apps and download them again under the new Apple ID.
